Hic Et Nunc

Beyond the meaning that the term Hic et Nunc has assumed historically and the concept that all our actions, memories, hopes happen here and now, in the immediacy of the present, my work also describes another thesis. In my work the Cor-Ten steel sector is a symbol of Here and Now as the silence and absolute calm in the void. Being here and now is consciously witnessing the occurrence of the scenarios that appear and progressively change in us. The True confronts us exactly at this moment, but immediately becomes an illusory past. It is the time of full consciousness and awareness. When man tries to grasp the past or is distracted by the illusory future, he strains in vain and stops feeling the world, he is distracted from awareness, from pure perception, where time does not exist. Time is the duration of the perception of something in space. Minutes, moments, hours are arbitrary divisions, an imagined time scale. Therefore, the rays in my work form a circle like a clock to describe past and future. The rays are engraved on the golden surface which symbolizes the ocean of divine light on which the life cycle of man is engraved.
